Fr DavidAssociate Priest Father David Morris

Father David Morris was born in 1986 in Cymmer, Rhondda Valley.  He studied for a Bachelors Degree in Theology at the University of Wales, Bangor and then for a Masters Degree in Theology at Cardiff University alongside training for the priesthood at St. Michael’s College, Llandaff.  He was made deacon at Petertide 2009 and ordained to the priesthood at Petertide 2010, both at Llandaff Cathedral.  Father David served his curacy in the Parish of Merthyr Tydfil, St. David and Abercanaid before being licensed as Associate Priest in the Parishes of Grangetown, St Paul and Cardiff, St Mary and St Stephen with St Dyfrig and St Samson in September 2012.

Father David’s interests include theatre, reading, cooking and travelling.  He also has a cat called Gordon.

Parish Priest:  Canon Graham FrancisFr Graham

Canon Graham Francis was born in Neath in 1945, and raised in Port Talbot. After school he trained for the priesthood at at the Faculty of Theology of University College, Cardiff & St Michael’s College, Llandaff. He was ordained deacon in 1970 and ordained to the priesthood on August 6th 1971. He served as curate of the Parish of Cowbridge from 1970-76. He then served as Vicar of Penrihwceiber from 1976 – 2002. He has been a Priest Clerk of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham since 1987. He has been a Canon of the Chapter of Llandaff Cathedral since 2002.

In April 2002 he was inducted as incumbent of The Parish of Cardiff, and in 2005 as incumbent of The Parish of Grangetown. Fr Graham is honorary chaplain to the Port of Cardiff and of the Cardiff branch of the Mission to Seafarers. He a member of the Church in Wales Liturgical Commission and a member of the Llandaff Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches. He is also chair of the Governing Body of St Mary the Virgin Church in Wales Primary school

He married Eleri Roberts in 1971, Eleri retired from her job of teaching Welsh in a valley comprehensive school in 2006. Their son Illtyd was born in 1972, he’s married to Nia and they have three sons, Osian born in 2006, Caian born in 2008 and Steffan born in 2010. Their daughter Catrin was born in 1974, she’s married to Peter and they have a son, Dylan born in 2007.
